I write to you from the various airports I have been visiting on the first few cities of my national book tour. Rattling with joyful confidence balanced with a girl-like nervousness, I have been meeting and greeting for days. Donning earphones for radio interviews in national markets, and revving up for television appearances, I’ve loved every moment of this tour. What an incredible opportunity I’ve been given by my publisher Harvest House to travel around to promote my new book “Restoring Order™: Organizing Strategies to Reclaim Your Life™”!
With gratitude, I was just reflecting on the fact that all I have done up until now has prepared me for these new opportunities. One step of faith has led to another step. Some steps have been giant steps, and others have been baby steps, but I’ve honored the Law of Momentum (see John Maxwell’s “21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership”) and I’ve continued to press on.
Doing a monthly segment on AM Northwest in Portland has prepared me for my regular appearance on Mission: Organization on HGTV. Likewise, that show has rounded out my television experience to provide enough acumen to adapt to the national television interviews I’m doing now. Thank you to my friends at AM Northwest!
Along the way, I’ve made the acquaintance of Paul Linnman, former host of AM Northwest, who invited me to share organizing advice with his radio listeners on his regional Morning Update show on 1190 KEX. Now I’m a regular on his show, and that radio experience has prepared me for the interviews with hundreds of thousands of listeners. Thank you, Paul!
My guiding life belief is that “all things are possible for me.” I’ve said “yes” to opportunities that have been presented to me, even when I was outside my comfort zone.
The cost of living this way is that I’ve always lit “fires” under myself; I put myself under constant deadlines and that creates a self-imposed pressure. The payoff of living this way, however, is that I get to live life to its fullest measure. I am living the abundant life. Daily, I experience the exhilaration of pioneering in a new industry and using my gifts to do it.
Are you seizing the opportunities that come your way? Or, do you feel too buried in chaos and out-of-control living to even recognize the opportunities? Do you feel that things you really want in life are out of your reach?
One of the most energizing outcomes of ordering your life is that you become more proactive instead of constantly reacting to the circumstances of life. Living an ordered life allows you to be more nimble so that you can respond to the opportunities in your life, rather than squandering them.
It’s time to order your
world and allow your past experiences to propel you into your exciting
future. When you live life in order and on purpose you can seize opportunity
and enjoy your full potential.
May you live the abundant life!
